Coco Bryce Mix
Stepping up for Tapes #44 is DJ, producer and label owner Coco Bryce. With well over two decades of experience, Coco Bryce can be regarded as a seasoned veteran in the world of uptempo dance music. After getting his first pair of decks back in 1995 he soon found himself regularly spinning Gabber and UK Breakbeat records at Hardcore events near his homebase in the south of the Netherlands. By the late '90s Coco had taken to producing as well.
LO-LOW Mix
Up next on our Tapes series #43 is LO-LOW, a self-confessed club kid and music enthusiast from London. LO-LOW found her way into the world of music through journalism, writing for CLASH Magazine and is now the co-host of two radio shows; Melatrois on Reform Radio which airs monthly and has been running for 5 years and Love Music Hate Racism’s fortnightly #speakupthursday radio show on Soho Radio. Spirited by nature, the aim of LO-LOW’s sets is to give back to audiences, what the club has done for her. By finding freedom in the expression on the dancefloor, euphoria, community and making you break a sweat. Enjoy!
Closet Yi Mix
Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, DJ and product Closet Yi joins us for our next instalment of Origins Tapes #42. Working at the Hyundai Card Music Library as a resident DJ and librarian for two years influenced Closet Yi beyond dance music genres, which has become the source of inspiration for the unique atmosphere and feeling in her music. This summer saw Closet Yi’s latest EP land on Yeti Out’s leftfield music imprint Silk Road Sounds. Embarking on a journey through acid house, breaks and high-octane techno, the ‘Speed Heals’ EP is inspired by late night drives through the city, passing by transient locations and melancholic car journeys in the early hours of the morning.
Olsvangèr Mix
Hitting up Tapes #41 we welcome Tel-Aviv-based DJ & Producer Olsvangèr, AKA DJ Headshot! As the founder of Tofistock and the curator of its cross boundaries BAZAAR mix series, Olsvangèr’s agenda is to promote local talents combined with international figures that the label is inspired by and feels connected with. The intention of the label is to expose the local scene to the freshest and the most exciting movements in the field, whilst attracting the international scene to hear the unique developments of the talented artists around Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa.
Adam Curtain Mix
Producer, DJ and founder of Trouble Maker Adam Curtain is next up for #40 of our Tapes Series. Adam Curtain is always trying to push the boundaries of what UK club music should sound like. Whether this is through his own productions and alias' on Trouble Maker or through his genre-hopping DJ sets that can be heard at world-renowned festivals and clubs such as Love International, Gottwood, Fabric and his second home The Lion & Lamb.
Madam X Mix
We’re buzzing to welcome DJ, label manager and club impresario Madam X next up on our Tapes series #39! With the soundsystem pressure of dubstep, the propulsion of techno and a fearless attitude, Madam X’s accomplishments admittedly feel like only the tip of the iceberg.
Mother Earth Mix
Hitting up Tapes #38 we welcome Mother Earth! Bella and Suz are the creators of Mother Earth Sounds, an event and podcast series aimed at promoting gender equality in electronic music whilst having a little bit of fun along the way. This mix is inspired by the sound of summer 2021. After 6 months of festivals, gigs and parties starting up again they've put together the sounds that remind them of a summer they will certainly never forget. Enjoy!
Eich Mix
Rising through the UK scene over the past few years, Eich is renowned for her hard hitting selection of percussive drum hits and pitched vocal chops, often connecting the dots between bass music and techno, with groove, soul, and swing at the heart of her work. The launch of her label, More Cowbell, has reignited the flame for a sound that was so prominent in the Bristol post-dubstep landscape.
With support from Loefah's Swamp 81 and London label Keysound Recordings, Eich has gone on to work with a number of renowned artists within the underground music scene, including Addison Groove, Martyn and more and we’re so excited to have her feature as #36 on our Tapes series - happy listening!
Bluetoof Mix
South London's Bluetoof, who joins us for our next installment of Origins Tapes #35, is fast becoming one of the UK's staple underground DJs and producers. In both instances, Blue dips through multiple genres, touching on electro, breaks, UKG & techno whilst also reaching for influences from his Moroccan heritage.
Guy Contact Mix
Hailing from Western Australia, Guy Contact specialises in creating low-slung and sultry downtempo house rhythms. The subtle softness in his percussion is released by comforting yet pressurised acid grooves. The music is plasmic yet pounding, often mind-bending and sometimes soothing. After a lengthy hiatus, the train has well and truly started again and it’s full steam ahead, so we’re super excited to have him be a part of our Tapes Series as #33!
Kiara Scuro Mixx
Kiara Scuro’s wild, energetic club sets flow through new wave to post-punk, electro to house, synth escapades to abstract techno and so much more, meandering between genres and styles with exceptional style and grace. Rosie Cain and Nadia Anderson are the real deal and we are so excited to welcome them as #33 on our Tapes series.

Kaishandao Mixx
Forged from the isolated, windswept hills of Wellington, New Zealand, melded by the breakneck BPM of modern China, Kaishandao (Mandarin for 'machete)' is Chengdu-based producer Kristen Ng, who creates a hard-hitting sound of complex origins and eccentric imperfections that chops a lost and found heritage into a playful mash-up of delirious dance music. We’re so excited to have her feature as #31 on our Tapes series, with this mix from a recent live show in Changsha - enjoy!
Maroki Mixx
Hailing from West Wales and now living in Amsterdam, Maroki joins us for our next installment of Origins Tapes #30. Having taken an 8-year hiatus from releasing and producing music while chasing a Michelin Star he has come back this year with a slew of releases. From his own Imprint 'Handy Records' along with a diverse 12" on the legendary 'E-Beamz' label. Following that is a 12" coming out on Shall Not Fade's 'Lost Palms' in Late August/September along with 2 more records via Lobster Theremin and an album towards the end of the year. His mix is a journey through some records he has collected over the past 15 years. Hard-hitting, trance obscurities and packed full of grooves. Enjoy!
Tia Cousins Mixx
The rise of online radio stations with their unrestricted musical policies has been a perfect blessing for Tia Cousins. She is a collector with a passion for in-between sounds, for experimental genres and niches both old and new. Frankly, she has a collection that belies her young years, but one that has won her plenty of recognition in underground circles, from NTS to Balamii, the Tate Gallery to Brilliant Corners. We’re so excited to have her feature as #29 on our Tapes series.
Manami Mixx
Bristol based, DJ, Producer, and Pianist Manami has been killing it playing on huge lineups for years, holding monthly residencies on Worldwide FM and Noods, and releasing a string of solid releases over the last year that suggest there are more records sure to be in the pipeline. At the end of 2020 Manami gave Origins the best end-of-year soundtrack when she took over our Selects playlist and it's the percussive, eclectic and driving taste in her music and sets that makes us so excited to welcome her for Origins Tapes #27.
Varda Hayes Mixx
Hailing from East London, DJ/Producer Varda Hayes is behind the newly launched, Vinyl Only imprint Intamissions. Kicking off the first 12” with a 4 track EP. Each track encapsulates the darker side of breaks, further merging elements of trance, acid and jungle.
Ground16 Mixx
Swiss Producer and DJ Ground16 is up next for #25 of our Tapes series. With releases on labels such as Juicy Traxxx, Gestalt Records and Neo Violence and DJ sets at Paloma Bar and HÖR Berlin, the DJ/Producer is fine-tuning his sound, finding inspiration in a wide range of musical genres such as techno, Detroit house, disco and jazz, as well as funk, lo-fi, hip hop, and electro.
Overland Mixx
Before relocating to Vancouver, Overland sharpened her skills in the snowy expanses of Alberta, Canada. A tireless DJ and promoter, she’s hosted a score of all-nighters and club events across the city, making her mark as an enthusiastic booster of a vibrant scene.
