FAFF Mix
FAFF, the energetic DJ and production duo made up of Elliott and Ornography, is one of the most exciting acts to have burst onto the scene within the last few years and we’re so excited to have them for Tapes #84.
Residents of Big Dyke Energy, their unique and exciting style spans across club music genres, and has earned them spots playing at Field Manuevers, FOLD, The Cause and Waterworks festival (to name but a few). FAFF’s production talent is also clear, using dreamlike synth sounds and unique samples to create a genre-bending sound that can be truly said to be their own.

Hey both - thanks for contributing to the Origins Tapes series! Can you start by introducing yourself?
Heya! We’re Elliott & Orny aka FAFF, a musician/DJ duo based in London and residents of Big Dyke Energy.
Tell us about this mix - where was it recorded and favourite track inside?
It was recorded at a recent gig we had in Glasgow at the Berkeley Suite playing for a fab Queer party called Shoot Your Shot! Favourite track within the mix has to be…. Antic - the ultimate (remix) it’s just bonkers!
What is the ideal setting to listen to it?
In the club!
How did you both meet and how did FAFF come about?
We met at the queer mothership, Dalston Superstore whilst working behind the bar together, we fell in love at first sight, and started sharing music tastes and the rest is history.
Tell us more about your involvement in Big Dyke Energy? How important do you think these parties are for London’s queer scene?
We’re residents at BDE, it’s by far our favourite place to be and play, surrounded by our community. Queer raves such as this are vital for people to connect with underground music whilst being in a safe environment.
Dream line-up to play with?
Ooooft! Dream lineup would consist of:
Eris Drew & Octo Octa, OK Williams, Jane Fitz, Yazzus, Anz, Marie Montexier, TygaPaw, Avalon Emerson & Animistic Beliefs.
Where can we expect to see you both next?
Our next gig coming up is Eris Drews’ “Temple of Dreams” at Corsica Studios on the 20th of January, alongside our besties Michelle Manetti and Angel D’lite <3 We can’t wait!
