Hi Juicy Romance ! Thanks for joining us :) can you tell us a bit about the mix you put together. Where were you when you made it and what was it out together on?

Thanks for having me sweeties!!! This mix goes pretty hard and fast, just the way I like it when I’m playing shows @ the club!! I wanted to put something together that had some hot party energy and reflective of the kind of sets I want to play over in Europe in the coming months. All of the songs are from producers I find really inspiring, and of course, bang hard. I recorded this one at home during yet another lockdown. The vibe around me at the time was pretty intense seeing as it was recorded in the living room while my brother decided to play COD behind me with a bunch of fans over his headset. I could barely hear the kick over the sound of him yelling ‘f*cking runnnnn you slow c*nt’ at the tv screen, lol!’

Fave track in the mix?!

Hmmm…that is tough because I really do love them all. But, I would have to say my favourite is the first track I play, Lament by Common Nocturne. He is a very dear friend of mine, an incredibly talented producer, and a 100% angel. I think he manages to capture and elicit a lot of emotion through his productions, and really take you on a journey. Lament really does that for me, which I absolutely love when I hear a song.

I feel like the Aussies have had a good few years of awesome artists coming through! What’s the vibe like over there? Is there a big scene in your hometown and where did you find your way into it?

Yes yes!!! Australia has been sporting some hot exports but one could certainly argue that the scene back here is even hotter. I’m from Naarm (Melbourne), which is full of so many talented DJs and producers and new acts popping up all the time which keeps things very exciting. I think now, we might actually have more DJs in Melbourne than IDM laypeople which is quite an achievement for such a small city!!!! ;)

I have been DJing for around 5 years now, and first got into it through my older brother who showed me the ropes on a pair of CDJ 1000s. We played with a bunch of CDs he had lying around, most of which were some kind of romantic/musical education mixtapes he burnt for his ex-gf. Probably the first and last time I’ll mix John Mayer into Passion Pit </3

It’s been great to have clubs open here, I was pretty nervous tbh to stand cheek to cheek with clubbers again but after a few weeks, I got used to it…. I was so jealous places opened there earlier than us. What’s the vibe been like? Have you had a chance to play out?

It really was a wild time over summer being able to go out and live with some sense of normality, and party with friends again. Luckily, I was able to travel to Sydney, Canberra and the Gold Coast to play some shows, as well as play a couple back in Melbourne, which I was incredibly grateful to be able to do. More than anything, I was glad to have been able to play my weekly ‘sexy 2000s throwbacks’ slot at Melbourne’s hottest pop and RnB club, without which my summer would have been way less vibey!!

Sadly, at the moment we are in an extended lockdown so I have had heaps of shows cancelled, and am leaving for the UK in a couple of weeks so won’t be able to do them, which is very disappointing. But, I have so much to look forward to overseas and am incredibly grateful to be able to tour around Europe and the UK, playing shows and having a ball.

I see you’re making your way to the EU soon! October 9th at SWG will be awesome. Have you been over before? Any gigs your are particularly looking forward to?

I was last in Europe for my 2016 gap year, where I travelled around thinking I was incredibly trendy and ahead of my friends back home because I went to Greissmuehle for 3 hours on a Saturday night instead of those other ‘pop techno clubs’. But, I am much older, wiser now and a little less big for my booties!! I am super excited for SWG, I am still pinching my Ju!cy a$$ that I get the opportunity to come over and support my bestie and brother, Partiboi69 on his tour. I would say I am equally excited for all of the shows (which will be announced in the next few weeks). But, I would have to say I am waiting for Electric Brixton and the Poland tour with ultra hot anticipation……!!! ;)

Quickfire. You close the Berg… What do you wear?

Wow okkk!! A very hard question. Let me paint you a picture; knee high, leather, calf skin black booties with a 6cm heel and pointed toe. Spanning the shaft of the boots are red, stitched, embroidered flames, stretching from the opening at the top, all the way down to the ankle area. To compliment these boots, is a y2k Dolce black leather mini skirt and a set of sheer, silk tights. Up top, we have my baby-blue custom-made ANOUK x Juicy Romance ‘Juicy’ Singlet, and a pair of ocean-blue, early 2000s Swarovski adorned, Chanel rimless sunglasses. And my lucky knickers, obviously. I think that’s the ‘fit!! <3

You close Dekmantel…What do you play?

Probably a hot as f*ck breaky tek club edit of Sexy B!tch by David Guetta.
